HISTORY OF THE DEPARTMENT OF STATISTICS
Department of Statistics is one of eight departments of the Faculty of Science, Chiang Mai University (CMU) taking action upon Chiang Mai University's mission which consists of teaching, conducting research, academic services for the community, and natural resources and environmental conservation.
  • 1975

    Statistics field had its beginnings in the Department of Mathematics and offered Bachelor's degree in Statistics.

  • 1976

    A year later (1976), there was an establishment project of the department of Statistics.

  • 1979

    In 1979, the Department of Statistics was established and Master's degree in Applied Statistics has also been offered in 1986.

The department currently has 28 staffs consisting of 22 academic staffs and 6 supporting staffs.
